Design Group Italia

Design Group Italia is a design studio which has its main office in Milan. It was founded in 1968 by Marco Del Corno and nowadays, it has 24 full time employees of different areas and with different educational backgrounds.

Under the supervision of Edgardo Angelini, Ross de Salvo, Sigurdur Thorsteinsson and Gabriele Zecca, several processes and tasks like industrial design, engineering design, marketing, graphic design and cmf design as well as model building and the creations of computer graphics are coordinated.

Higher as the amount of employees is the amount of customers. The list of different companies, Design Group Italia so far worked for, includes food producers like Kraft, Galbani and Barilla, companies like AEG, Siemens, or Bayer and renowned producers like Tupperware, Scotch, Tamoil or Magis.

The most successful creations of the Design Group Italia includes the Finliner Tratto Pen for Fila which won the Compasso d'Oro in 1979, the interruptor Megamax for ABB Sace which brought the second Compasso d'Oro for the Design Group Italia, the ironing board Amleto for Magis which was short listed for the Compasso d'Oro in 1991 or the Lyra bar stool as well for Magis. Lyra belonged to the Top Ten of the Promosedia Udine. To the here mentioned design awards, several others can be added up: six times, the Design Group Italia won the Red Dot Award, four times the iF Design Award and several other international awards.
